With a career that has mastered all segments of the entrepreneurial ecosystem, Chris brings a deep understanding of the critical elements at play in an early stage rapid growth company.
Not many entrepreneurs can boast a resume like Chris’s. Not only has he successfully founded major national businesses, been a successful and experienced Angel Investor, been the longest serving member of and managed the regions largest and most successful CEO and professional development organization but Chris is also seen as a pioneer in the financial services sector and was responsible for establishing the worlds first bank guaranteed commodity fund. This business grew rapidly and today has over $7 billion in funds under management in Australia.
In the financial arena Chris has held the role of Group CEO of Ord Minnett one of Australia’s most respected Icon Brands within the financial services sector. He was also Joint Head of Funds Management from 1999 – 2000, Managing Director of all Futures Operations from 1982 -1994, Managing Director of Funds Management from 1986 – 1994, Chairman Ord Minnett Ltd - Private Clients Equities from 1990 – 1992 and Director, Leverage Equities Ltd - Margin Lending from 1990 – 1996.
Chris’s most recent role was as CEO of TEC – The Executive Connection. TEC is the world’s largest CEO collaborative think tank membership organization, operating under the brand names Vistage International and TEC.
Chris' career has been characterised by a successful history of building businesses, typically from scratch. All have been successful in becoming or maintaining their position as industry leaders in their particular fields.
He defines and articulates his goals around a strong strategic plan, then attracts stakeholders, especially staff, with the skills and the passion to make a difference. Working on the basis that excellence in executing the vision can only be achieved through highly motivated individuals working collectively with the right skills, he works hard to ensure his team is motivated and well respected.
