John is the South Australian based Investment Manager for the Trans-Tasman Commercialisation Fund (TTCF). TTCF invests pre-seed, seed and venture capital into early stage commercial research projects and spinout companies generated by member universities across all sectors including life sciences, information & communications technology and engineering/cleantech.

Prior to joining TTCF, John worked for over 18 years in the ICT industry and is experience in the development of software products and services. John has successfully brought a number of multi-million dollar products to market from initial proof-of-concept, to market entry and beyond. John's experience spans large multinational companies from Motorola and Hewlett-Packard, to small ICT based start-up companies both in the UK and Australia.

John became actively involved and fascinated by technology commercialisation whilst working as a Commercial Manager at ITEK, the commercialisation company of the University of South Australia. At ITEK John was predominately focused on identifying, developing and commercialising opportunities derived from academic research across the mechanical, industrial and ICT space.

John holds a Masters degree in Technology Commercialisation, a B.Sc. (Hons) degree in Computer Science and is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (AICD).
