Innovyz Pty Ltd ACN 148 989 360 and Innovyz Start Pty Ltd ACN 155 835 797 (collectively referred to as Innovyz in this Privacy Policy) have partnered with ANZ to run the ANZ Innovyz Start program to help start ups, existing businesses and entrepreneurs with innovative ideas to get started and to grow and develop their businesses. This program is based on the TechStars program and Innovyz is a member of the Global Accelerator Network founded by TechStars.

Innovyz undertakes to comply with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth), including the ten National Privacy Principles (NPPs). Our procedures, as generally outlined in this policy, promote the handling of your personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act and NPPs. 

Collection of your personal information

We will collect personal information about you in the course of your dealings with Innovyz (eg. when you complete an application form on the Innovyz website at www.innovyz.com to apply for entry into an Innovyz program, when you enrol in or attend an Innovyz program). 

We only collect information that is necessary for our business functions.  We may be limited in the services we can provide to you if we are unable to collect the information about you that we require.

Generally we collect information about organisations and individuals who apply for or are accepted into the Innovyz programs and events. We also collect information about individuals who express an interest in or are accepted as mentors for Innovyz programs and events. 

We generally only collect your personal information directly from you. Although where the organisation you are employed by or associated with completes an online application form at the Innovyz website they may include details about you (and your information will first be collected by the Global Accelerator Network before being transferred to us. Please see below under 'Innovyz website at www.innovyz.com' for more information). 

The types of personal information we collect about you, and our use of that information, depends upon the dealings that you (or the organisation engaging with us, that you are associated with) has with us. Generally, we will collect your name, position, employer, details of your relevant employment history, qualifications and skills.

The online application forms located on the Innovyz website at www.innovyz.com are powered by and linked to the operator of the Global Accelerator Network.  All information entered into the online forms at www.innovyz.com is collected and stored directly by the Global Accelerator Network on its database (which may be overseas). Where your details relate to the business of Innovyz, the information in the completed online form will be transferred to Innovyz by the Global Accelerator Network. 

If you exit an application form before completing and submitting that form the content you have entered will be deleted.  You can save a partially completed online application form, and recover and resume completion of that form anytime within the following 30 days. After this time the content you have entered will be deleted. 

The Innovyz website may contain links to other websites. Innovyz is not responsible for the privacy practices or the use and protection of your personal information on those other websites.  We cannot guarantee the privacy or security of personal information during transmission to our website at www.innovyz.com

When you use the Innovyz website we will collect your IP address. Our website at www.innovyz.com also uses cookies.  We use your IP address and cookies to track your use of the website at www.innovyz.com and for security and personalisation purposes (for example, to enable you to save and complete online forms over multiple sessions).  If your Internet browser is configured to not accept cookies you will not be able to access or make full use of the www.innovyz.com website.    

Overseas transfer of your personal information

Information you enter into online application forms on Innvoyz website at www.innovyz.com will be directly collected and stored in databases outside of Australia by the Global Accelerator Network.  Innovyz will be provided with that information by the Global Accelerator Network where the application relates to Innovyz. Innovyz stores its information on various databases, including cloud computing databases and therefore your personal information may be stored in locations other than Australia.    

Use and disclosure of your personal information

The Global Accelerator Network will store the information submitted in online application forms on the Innovyz website at www.innovyz.com to maintain a record of the submitted form and will disclose that information to Innovyz (or where the application relates to a service to be provided by another entity affiliated with the Global Accelerator Network, to that entity). 

Innovyz will use and disclose your personal information for the purposes for which we collected it, for other related purposes that you would reasonably expect, and as otherwise permitted or required by law.  Generally, these purposes will include providing you with products and services, providing you with information about Innovyz's activities, programs, offerings, developments and to obtain your feedback.

We may disclose your personal information to our agents and contractors, for these purposes. When doing so, we contractually require all agents and contractors to uphold the standards of the NPPs. 

We will also disclose your personal information to Australia and New Zealand Banking Group (ABN 11005357522) (ANZ). ANZ may use your personal information to market its products and services to you. 

On occasions, Innovyz may also allow other third parties associated with us, to mail you with information if Innovyz believes that the information may be of interest to you. Please note, however, that we will not give your details to these third parties, but rather, mailing lists are arranged by an independent party in strict compliance with privacy legislation. You will have the opportunity to opt-out of receiving this sort of information.

Sensitive Information

Innovyz does not generally collect sensitive information and, if we do, we will first obtain your consent. We will only use sensitive information for the purpose for which it is collected, for directly related secondary purposes and as otherwise permitted by law. Innovyz will only disclose your sensitive information with your consent and as otherwise permitted or required by law.

Use of our website and security of your personal information

Innovyz takes reasonable, industry-standard steps to protect personal information from misuse, loss, unauthorised use, modification or disclosure, but Innovyz does not warrant and cannot ensure the security of any information which you transmit.  Accordingly, any information which you transmit is transmitted at your own risk.

Information is destroyed or permanently de-identified by Innovyz when it is no longer needed for any purpose for which it was collected.

All personal information held by Innovyz in our database will only be accessible by authorised staff at Innovyz, or authorised third party contractors to the extent that they need to have access to provide services to Innovyz.  Where such access is provided to third party contractors, they are first required by Innovyz to agree to keep such information confidential, and to only access or use it for the purpose for which they are contracted to Innovyz. 

Access and accuracy of your personal information

If you believe the personal information we hold about you is not accurate, please contact the Innovyz Privacy Officer at the details shown below. 

You may request access to the personal information we hold about you.  Generally, we will provide you with access, except in limited circumstances where we are permitted by law to refuse access.   You must direct any requests to the Innovyz Privacy Officer.  We may charge a fee for providing access, which will not exceed our reasonable expenses incurred in responding to your request, including photocopying and administrative expenses. 

Changes to our Privacy Policy

We reserve the right to amend, modify or replace this policy at any time.
